Background History[]

Actual history[]

The USS Nemesis (CV-02), an aircraft carrier, is a fictional warship; and therefore does not have any actual history.

Fictional, fan made, history[]

It was the year 1991. Mikhail Gorbachev never rose to power, and the ideals of Glasnost and Perestroika were never introduced. The USSR maintains its momentum by the determined proletariats and the manipulative leaders despite the economic downturn. The Cold War continued up to the 21st century, with both bellierents developing very promising technologies and ship designs.

During the year 2016, the Soviet Union introduced the rather obscure design details for the Project 23000e as a response to the United States' Gerald R Ford class. The West took this as a taunt by the Reds, and they refused to lag behind the extravagant arms race.

Months of brainstorming, countless papers and blueprints for proposed designs. Finally, after hundreds of fruitless concepts, United States resorted to a design of "very massive aircraft carriers", being promised to be more than twice the size of its predecessors. They came to a conclusion to build 400 meter long, 92 meter wide warships that will be intended to become the centerpiece of the navy.

Amongst them, the USS Nemesis, is intended to be the largest ship of the navy, codenamed Project 6754.5. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2025, with its launch date being projected to be in the year 2030 and commissioning in late 2032

Overview[]

The Nemesis, with its plethora of armaments, can take in several roles that will be of advantage in case of harsh conditions. The ship can fire projectiles from both its primary and secondary guns, and can repel submarines with its grenade launcher.

However, it will take practice to tame and master the iron monster. Players have to adopt the strategy of multitasking and also be cautious of every segment of the battlefield for any enemies that may strike. The ship's large size will also be a considerable hindrance to its survivability.

The ship can only be obtained by legendary players, costing at a certain amount of platinum.

Tactics[]

Playing as a USS Nemesis (CV-02)[]

As an aircraft carrier, deploy an air squadron or a helicopter to detect the rival team during the start of a match. This will give you and your allies a strategic advantage, and be able to make a proper tactic to counter the rival team.

After the enemy team has been spotted, try attacking the most vulnerable units first (such as ships drifting along by themselves without anti air coverage from their allies. By doing so, it will not be as hazardous for allied ships to engage in a slugfest with the remaining enemy ships.

But bear in mind to check your ship as you perform these, be on alert for any rival ship(s) that are threatening your survivability. Unlike with standard carriers, however, the ship comes armed with guns, allowing for players to fend off some attacking ships with considerable effectivity.

Always keep in mind your ship's specialty is having high HP, a gun, and 8 autocannons, not aircraft. Being the only aircraft carrier in tier 3 that doesn't have a drone, your offensive capabilities are severely limited to strike fighters, your gun, and your 2 ASROCs.

Playing along with a USS Nemesis (CV-02)[]

With all that power also comes disadvantages to which allies can help in mitigate the Nemesis' flaws. Even with its size, the ship has poor anti aircraft defense in proportion with its size (equipping RAPIDFire as an autocannon will help, however this is only an option for players that are level 25+, and this will sacrifice the offensive capability of the level 20 autocannons). Allied ships can help in resolving this problem by escorting an allied Nemesis, in turn the ship can survive longer to the match and deal heavier damage to enemy ships.

Allied destroyers and cruisers can provide additional defense against submarines, which will be crucial in further maintaining the ship's survivability; and other heavier surface ships can help in eliminating the rival team altogether.

Playing against a USS Nemesis (CV-02)[]

With the ship's obvious flaws; the ship, on its own, will be a very vulnerable unit, but it will still require a certain level of concentration to be able sink the ship, especially if it is under control of a skilled player.

The ship can be sunk with a well planned surprise attack however this isonly plausible if the Nemesis player is seriously dumb, an aircraft carrier should be able to spot you kilometers away from their ship. So the best way to take this bad boy out is simply to snipe it. Sure, that sounds impossible, especially in islands of iceland where (as the name goes) islands are everywhere, but it's easy when your target is the size of Texas and slower than a velikiy, especially if none help the Nemesis during the duration of the attack. Submarines can also achieve a similar effect, but avoid getting detected.

The ship can also be sunk by launching several missiles at a time, or by a large wave of aircraft, and burden the ship's anti air defenses.

Suggested Armaments Setup[]

The ship, with its flexible armaments setup, can be armed with various weapons that will furthermore improve the ship's performance. Below are some suggested weapons setup. But, bear in mind that these are just suggestions.

  • Cannon: MONARC or Koalitsiya.
  • Grenade Launcher: RUR-5B ASROC or the A22.
  • Strike Fighter: Rafale-M (for high damage, multipurpose), F-35 (for damage), J-31 (overall capability)
  • Fighter: F-22 Raptor, Mig-41.
  • Helicopter: WZ-19 CAIC or SV-22 Osprey for fast reconaissance of enemy ships, or Ka-58 Black Ghost for a better anti-submarine defense, also Muh-1 Marineon for better offensives against aircraft and ships. The AP Phoenix can also be used with its high speed, durability, and armaments.
  • Autocannon (first slot): Marlin (40 mm), RAPIDFire or Gibka (Anti-Tank).
  • Autocannon (second slot): Marlin (40 mm), RAPIDFire or Gibka (Anti-Tank).
  • Air Defense (first slot): ANSEQ-3 (for players with the "hero" status), Sea RAM (best anti missile defence), THEL(quick destruction of planes, but must be obtained via market), Garpun (for better Anti Aircraft defense)
  • Air Defense (second slot): ANSEQ-3 (for players with the "hero" status), Garpun, Sea RAM, Pantsir-ME (for those who have not reached lv 25)

Advantages and Disadvantages[]

Advantages[]

  • Mid-heavy secondary armament to (somewhat) complement the damage from its aircraft.
  • The ship comes equipped with a gun, allowing for better defense against nearby surface ships.
  • Comes equipped with grenade launchers.
  • Good durability for its size.(The highest in the game.)
  • The largest amount of autocannons in game (8).

Disadvantages[]

  • Not good at anti-aircraft defense relative to the ship's size.
  • Large size makes the ship utterly vulnerable to all fire.
  • Easy to spot and attack
  • Doesn’t have a drone or bomber.
  • Quite slow and not very maneuverable.

Trivia[]

  • The ship initially had a durability of 296,400; but this was later on increased to 400,400 in an update, making the Nemesis the most durable warship in the game.
    • The ship's durability was once again increased to 440,400 on January 7, 2022.
  • The nemesis is one of the 2 "secret" ships which can only be accessed by legendary players.
  • The ship was given a 20% bonus in the amount of money and gold acquired after every battle on the 0.46.2 update, released on November 10, 2021.
  • The ship, if thought about, does look like a space carrier similar in style to the Space Battleship Yamato franchise.
